Sisters Julia and Madeline have a love chocolate they wish to share with the world. Since they were young, chocolate was how they celebrated holidays, homecomings, and get togethers with the family. During holidays, tables were littered with half eaten pieces of misfit chocolate bonbons and quotes like “much too good for children” - Mrs. Trunchbull would be said with a mouthful of chocolate. And we can’t forget Gene Wilder. Willy Wonka was rite of passage.

Julia lives in London, has a degree in Health Science, and spent a summer in Switzerland tasting and exploring the highest quality chocolates in the world. She owned a successful small business in Southern California for many years before moving abroad. She has traveled extensively which has inspired her and given her a global and cultural perspective on life as well as flavor. She has studied courses in nutrition and perfumery which aid in her culinary creations.

Madeline who lives in LA has studied wine and flavors and has worked in the some of the top restaurants in the world in New York and Los Angeles. She has a gift for hospitality, creating amazing dishes and discovering quality ingredients from around the world and finding the latest in health research. With her experience working with celebrities and top chefs she brings elegance and superior quality to all her creations. With their love of health, beauty, quality, and flavor they created bēan.

The name bēan is inspired by Julia's nickname as a child, Madeline’s is bird.
